Should you only have heard of airpower.at from thirds or if run across this site accidently, this is a platform for all folks from all professions interested in modern military-aviation. Founded in 1998 with solely Austrian intentions by Martin Rosenkranz, airpower.at has since established itself as an equivalent of an internationally-oriented, printed-magazine - which would have no chance to prosper in a “non-defense” environment like todays Austria is. As Martin, Georg, Christian or Helmut became opinion-leaders and/or (from an industry-viewpoint) “neutral” experts for the regular media, the site was often a subject in Austrias recent acquisitions of S-70 helicopters, ex RAF C-130s and of course the permanent and now freshly disputed Eurofighter “Typhoon”. But beside the slippery corridors of the parliament, of course we travel and sometimes fly a lot in military-aviation. As this is a non-profit oriented undertaking, the 2007 calendar might bring you joy as well as it might ease our travel-expenses connected with producting it.
What has been selected is a colourful mix of jets, rotors and props. There are current and past subjects to look trough, taken in the air and from the ground in Austria, France, the UK, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Russia and the UAE. Instead of a cover-page, we have decided to offer a bonus-sheet The 13th page is a fine shot of one of our F-5Es leased from Switzerland, on which all the pilots of the Austrian “Surveillance-Wing” have signed with their callsigns.
